About the event
We are pleased to welcome Carl Palazzolo, DVM, wildlife veterinarian, photographer and author of Bald Eagles: The Comeback of Our National Symbol in Michigan. Carl will share fascinating insights and photographs from 50 years of caring for these majestic birds.
The evening will also include a special opportunity to see and have your picture taken with a live bald eagle from the Michigan Avian Experience.
Church member Jennifer Day, founder and CEO of the Wings Over Water Research Institute (WOWRI), will also talk about the organization's new nonprofit mission to monitor Michigan's bald eagle population and other fish-eating waterbirds as sentinels of environmental health.
Come learn more about these magnificent birds, their remarkable recovery in Michigan, and why continued research and monitoring are essential to understanding the health of our Great Lakes ecosystems.
